March 20-27, 2011 Fundraiser

Bowl For Kids Sake

Vinnie Mark

Family and friends:

Last year I had the pleasure of participating in a couple of events!

Please help me raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks (BBBSSADK). Since 1975, BBBSSADK has created mentoring friendships that change lives. Most children served by BBBSSADK live in single-parent and low-income families, or households where a parent is incarcerated.  Independent studies prove that Little Brothers and Sisters perform better in school, avoid violence and illegal activities and have stronger relationships with their parents, families and friends.

Our major annual fundraiser, Bowl for Kids’ Sake, is coming up on March 20, March 26 and March 27 2011 at Spare Time Lanes in South Glens Falls. I am bowling again this year, and I'm looking for sponsors to help us raise funds for this wonderful non-profit organization. We can ask locals for pledges via traditional paper pledge forms, but online fund raising is ideal for soliciting pledges from friends and family who live far from the North Country. It’s easy to donate and the website is safe and secure.

Please go to:     www.creatingmagic.org
Click on the “Bowl for Kids’ Sake” bowling balls and then look for the team listings on the right. Our team is “Rapp and Roll”, and we are also listed under the “Davidson Brothers” group.  (Davidson Brothers is a local brewery and restaurant.) When you click on “Rapp and Roll”, you can then click on Vinnie Mark and make your pledge by credit card. Your $5 or $10 pledge will really help Bowl for Kids’ Sake reach its 2011 goal of $100,000. (In 2010, we raised $92,000.) Support from state and local government has declined due to recent economic conditions, and our regional United Way is under increasing pressure as a myriad of non-profits vie for limited grants.

Thanks for your help.
