Jeff Kreisler

Jeff Kreisler“A highlight” – New York Times

“Up next was Kreisler with his special brand of political and social humour. It’s easy to see why he won the inaugural (sic) ‘Bill Hicks Spirit Award For Thought-Provoking Comedy’; he tore into politics, race and religion in a similar style to Hicks, but with his own personal slant and some very acute and funny observations. This is one show that will have you laughing from start to finish and is probably one of the best comedy shows at the Fringe…” - * * * * * Fresh Air

“Jeff Kreisler and his Comedy Against Evil show were amazing. Jeff’s act was thought provoking, edgy, and quite hilarious. We’re definitely asking him back next year because he had all of us on the floor laughing for an entire hour.” - Georgetown University

A graduate of Exeter, Princeton, Virginia Law School, and the fictional College of Asparagus Lovers, Jeff Kreisler is an accomplished comedian, writer, and person. He’s the winner of the Bill Hicks Spirit Award for Thought Provoking Comedy, chosen by the Hicks family. Jeff writes for Comedy Central’s Indecision2008, has a syndicated business humor column and video, Funny Money, via Jim Cramer’s TheStreet.com, is author of the forthcoming book, Get Rich Cheating, and has joined the staff and cast of Shoot The Messenger, a new show from the creator of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. He’s the star of the critically-acclaimed Comedy Against Evil tour and recently performed with Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John Edwards.

In 2007, Current Television repeatedly broadcast a feature on Jeff Kreisler’s comedy in both the United States and across Great Britain. Jeff received 5-star reviews for his show at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and has also been featured at the Freedom Cinema, New York Underground, and San Francisco Comedy Festivals. He’s performed at billions of colleges and millions of clubs, and has made the funny with headliners and legends like Dick Gregory and Robin Williams. He also showcased at the 2007 NACA National Convention.

His absurdist comedy act is a blend of commentary, social insight, and unpredictable weirdness that focuses self-deprecating, theatrical, hilarious rage on the erosion of democracy and the future of our culture. He is passionate, energetic, magnetic, opinionated, and, above all, extremely funny.

Jeff’s appeared on CBS, Air America, and Sirius Radio networks, moderates “Democracy In Crisis” on Queens TV, has written for George Carlin’s Laugh.com, Reader’s Digest, Jest, and television and movie production companies, and has done everything from warm-up for the Discovery Channel, to hosting pilot dating shows, to corporate and private gigs across the country.

Jeff Kreisler plays blues saxophone, speaks French and Russian, broadcast sports, played college football, taught English in Russia, started a non-profit dedicated to at-risk youth, worked in the State Department and San Francisco District Attorney’s office and now lives in New York, from whence he is available for birthdays, circumcisions and bachelorette parties.

"Vinnie, that was a great show that you put together for us! I've run into people all over the place that had a great time. They all loved Eddie Clark and thought it was great he came back out to help you with the giveaways. That really made the show! So if you would please pass on our thanks for a super show to Erik, Steve and Eddie. Not to go unnoticed was your fine performance that evening as well. You know I can't thank you enough for everything you do to help make our show the greatest in the area. Thanks again!" - Mike T. (Fort Edward Fire Department)
