Darlene Violette at the Saratoga Comedy ClubProfessional actor and stand up comic Darlene Violette will appear on the season premiere of Denis Leary’s award winning show “Rescue Me” on FX! She has been seen on NBC’s Law and Order, As The World Turns on CBS and MTV’s Wonder Showzen. She was the warm up comic for The Ricki Lake Show and Life and Style. She has opened for Kevin Pollock and Lisa Lampanelli and performs stand up comedy in and around New York City.

Film credits include: Leading role in the Winner of the Chrysler Film Contest Lately there have been many misunderstandings in the Zimmerman home, Produced by Alex Orslovsky from Half Nelson, Supporting role in the Feature film “The Immeasurable Difference between The Apple and The Tree”, “A New Wave” co-starring with John Kaminsky from The Office and Dean Edwards from SNL, Manhattan Midnight costarring with Richard Grieco, and currently filming The Sexes based on the short story by Dorothy Parker.

Commercial Credits include: Quicken Loans, Nutrisystem, Optimum Online, Insight Communications, Eyewitness News, Celebrity Fit Club Promo on VH1 and Emmy Award Winning PSA for The World Trade Center Memorial Fund.

Stand Up Comedy Credits include: Warm Up Comedy - Entire 10th Season for The Ricki Lake Show and the entire 1st season for Life and Style both with Sony Tri-Star pictures. Darlene is a regular at The Improv Comedy Club, The New York Comedy Club and has her own show at Carolines on Broadway.

Education and Training: Darlene holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Bridgewater State College, A Certificate of Completion from The National Shakespeare Acting Conservatory, A Certificate of Completion from Trinity Repertory Theatre Conservatory, and attended the Masters Degree Program for Acting, Playwriting and Directing at Rhode Island College and Trinity Repertory Theatre. In New York City she has studied at The Actors Center with Brian Murray, Joanna Merlin and Charles Tuthill She continues to study in a master acting class taught by Michael Imperioli at Studio Dante.

    I saw her (Violet) last night with 3 other tremendously funny men, but she brought down the frickin’ house! I had tears streaming down my face from laughter. So worth bringing the 2 family members and the 45 cover charge. Haha. Cheers to her, she’s going places.
